The 4th Annual Guangzhou Youth Innovation & Entrepreneurship Global Pitch is an international competition for seed stage tech startups in multiple countries: China, Taiwan, HK, USA, Japan and – for the first time – Israel.

The goal of the competition is to build an ecosystem of first-time entrepreneurs, experienced entrepreneurs, aspiring entrepreneurs, investors, mentors, startup employees, and service providers.

The first stage of the competition will be held in Israel, at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, on Sunday May 7th. A total of 10 startups will be invited to participate at this stage.

The second stage of the competition will be held in Guangzhou, China, on Thursday May 25th. A total of 3 startups will be invited to participate at this stage.

Awards of the competition in China

  • First Prize: 100,000 RMB, 2-year rent-free office in Youth Business Incubation Base.
  • Second Prize: 50,000 RMB, 1-year rent-free office in Youth Business Incubation Base.
  • Third Prize: 20,000RMB, 6-month rent-free office in Youth Business Incubation Base.
  • Winning Prize: 10,000 RMB, support from the Youth Business Incubation Base.

Participation requirements

  • Innovative and forward looking startups with independent intellectual property rights.
  • Incorporated for no more than 2 years.
  • Early stage startups are encouraged to participate.
  • Chinese market oriented a plus – not a must.

Jianzhimao – Part time job hunting App

Winner of the 1st Guangzhou Youth Entrepreneurship Competition. Guangzhou JoiWay Technology developed an App (Jianzhimao) popular with university students. The App is China’s largest platform for part-time job hunting, serving hundreds of thousands of university students every day. In March 2015, Zhixin Capital invested 20 million yuan in it.

Jinhuayuo, – mobile based Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)

Winner of the 2nd Guangzhou Youth Entrepreneurship Competition. Backed by the knowledge repository of TCM and professional team of TCM doctors, the TCM practitioners can gain knowledge of TCM (comments on efficacy learnt in return visit). In addition, the practitioners can also disseminate their academic standpoints and network with their peers through the We Media TCM platform. In this way, they can not only track the progress of rehabilitation of their patients, but also collect materials for scientific research.

ESUN smart snore stopper mattress

Winner of the 2nd Guangzhou Youth Entrepreneurship Competition. The medicine-oriented project uses positional therapy which has been recognized by scholars abroad but not yet been brought to the attention of China’s counterparts. It can ease snoring and hypoxias without impairing the quality of sleep of users, who can, as a result, improve their health of sleep even outside the hospital.

Extreme Vision computer vision PaaS (Platform-as-a-Service)

Winner of the 3rd Guangzhou Youth Entrepreneurship Competition. Extreme Vision is a professional provider of computer vision technology. Its self-developed algorithms have realized multi-dimensional recognition, including: people flow statistics, gender, age, character relationships recognition, regional hot spot recognition, character path tracking and retrieval of duration of stay.
